Follow The (New) Leaders!

Aloha, LOST friends!

There are now two new fabulous people in charge of this awesome endeavor, and I'd like to both introduce you to them and pass the island torch!

Your new island leaders for LOST 2014 are Kelley and Gary!  I will remain involved in the process as an active consultant and talent liaison, but Kelley and Gary are graciously taking on all of the planning, logistics and production!

Kelley

Kelley is a LOSTie who has been a fan of the show since S1. Since the show went off the air in May 2010, she has re-watched the entire series from start to finish no less than 5 times! Wonder who her LOST faves are? That's like asking you to pick your favorite child - but, topping the list are Locke, Ben and Sawyer. Her favorite episode is Walkabout. And yes, she loved the finale and thought it perfectly wrapped up the series. In her spare time, she has run several successful fan websites for TV shows. She's a lover of all things social media and brings over 15 years of event planning and marketing experience to help plan this LOST 2014 reunion!

Gary

Gary is a big time LOSTie that spends his time doing software and database development when not mentally traversing the island. He has the Geek factor of Sayid and Locke's love of the islands (both the LOST island and Hawaii). He's been travelling to the Hawaii for almost 30 years and would swim to this gathering from California if he had to. He also has a wicked sense of humor.

* In addition, they have created a brand new site (LOST2014.com) dedicated specifically for LOST 2014 - please bookmark and visit it frequently for updates, because this blogspot site will no longer be updated! You can contact them with any questions via email (lost at lost2014 dot com), and they will post all information on the new site - as well as on the official Twitter and Facebook pages.

Namaste, and see you on the island!

Follow the Leader: Are You a Candidate?

Hello LOST friends! We are still over a year away from the 2014 LOST anniversary events in Hawaii, which gives us plenty of time to organize and prepare. That being said, we are seeking a Candidate* to oversee this entire project. As much as I wanted to take this on myself, real life and related priorities have intervened; thus, I am unable to commit to the time and effort needed to oversee this endeavor.

If you fit all of the following categories/characteristics, please email me (jo [at] jopinionated dot com) so we can discuss your candidacy! Please only respond if you are a dedicated and highly motivated LOST fan with serious interest who is capable of the time commitment required.
  • Live in the U.S.
  • Have "spare time" every week from now until 9/14
  • Solid time management skills
  • Great follow-through via phone & email
  • Ability to receive negative feedback & provide constructive feedback in return
  • Patience
  • Resourcefulness
  • Familiarity with Oahu/Waikiki/Honlulu and/or venues/tours on the island
Right now, we have a travel agent secured but nothing else has been officially booked (tours or venues, etc.). Whoever takes this on has the flexibility to start from scratch. This IS going to be a fun project to organize!

*Please note: this is a 100% voluntary position; there is no compensation for The Man or Woman Behind the Curtain - except for the gratitude of everyone attending!

When the time comes, I can offer my services as a Talent Liaison - to reach out to cast and crew after events/venues have been secured and schedules set. Until then, I will be stepping down from any leadership role for LOST 2014.

We appreciate your patience and I look forward to "interviewing" possible Candidates! We'd love to have someone on board by the end of July, if not sooner.

2014 LOST Reunion Poll!

Welcome to the first 2014 LOST Poll! Put on your virtual lei and get ready. But don't worry - unlike our friends in the DHARMA Initiative, we will not judge you based upon your answers.

We know it’s early to be asking, but we’d love to get a general idea of how many people seriously think that they will be able to attend this event in September of 2014 on Oahu. In addition, there are a lot of activity options on the Island for this large gathering, so we are wondering which ones you are interested in and would potentially be willing to pay for.  NOTHING is set in (cave) stone right now. We are simply in the inquiry phase for you all everybody.

PLEASE take the 2 polls on the right side of this blog. --->

* UPDATE: the polls are now closed but we'd still love your feedback! Please leave us a comment below if you are so inclined. :)

Again, we are in the very early stages of planning. To be frank, we are not actually in charge of this adventure - we are simply your messengers for now. But things are moving forward, and we hope you’re planning to be a part of it! Stay tuned for details about the official dates and possible travel and tour options.

Namaste!

Erin & Jo
